The Canadian Children’s Literacy Foundation appoints two new Board members

We are delighted to welcome our newest Board members, Deepak Kaura and Konata T. Lake, who bring a wealth of experience in leadership and innovation in their respective fields.

Dr. Kaura and Mr. Lake join the dedicated change-makers on our current Board of Directors at a pivotal moment in our organization’s history, as we expand to reach more families. Together we are building more equitable access to reading resources for all children in Canada.

About our new Board members:

Deepak Kaura HeadshotDr. Kaura is a pediatric radiologist and Chief Medical Officer of 1QBit, a Vancouver-based quantum computing software company. He is passionate about children’s health, and he has deep expertise in developing innovative approaches to healthcare. Read more here.

Konata Lake HeadshotMr. Lake, a partner at Torys LLP, has been part of the Canadian Children’s Literacy Foundation family for the past two years, having acted as our pro-bono counsel since 2019. He is committed to driving access to educational opportunity for all, a cause he also supports through his role on the Board of Governors of York University in Toronto. Read more here.
